Clyde 'SMOKE SHOULDER' Cushing, passed away this morning loosing
his battle with cancer. He will be missed at the campfire and,
we'll miss his Dutch oven baking. He'll be there, keeping the
camp fire burning for all of us in the future. I'll have more
details on his services later.

I think about Smoke Shoulder every time I cook with cast
iron. He taught me the "right" way to clean my pans and I
always think about him as do the clean up. Since the only
pots and pans we have are cast iron, I think about him every
day.
Remember the time he cooked that three tiered wedding cake
at the Eastern in Bushy Run? He was so worried about his
cakes and getting them all done and then getting the icing
on them.

He was a great guy, and is sorely missed. Here are two
